Pre-owned Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner Ref. 7922 (first series of the Tudor Submariner presented in 1954) with a 37mm stainless steel case that maintains its sharp edges and is presented unpolished, screw down small crown engraved with Rolex crown logo, original bidirectional rotatable steel bezel with black aluminium lunette graduated in 5-minute interval with visible signs of wear inherent to professional diving use, the pearl is missing. Original black lacquered dial with a subtle brown patina ("Tropical"), hour markers filled in luminescent material (Radio) that still maintain luminescence and original central hands with remains of same luminescent material. The inscriptions on this dial correspond to the very first series of the reference: at 12 o'clock the Tudor Rose touching the marker and under "OYSTER-PRINCE" in one line, the registers at 6 o'clock in four lines and outstanding the curved "SELF-WINDING" inscription and the "SWISS" record on the outside of the dial disk. Original Plexiglass Tropical dommed crystaland steel back case with engraved reference and serial number. Automatic movement calibre 390. Oystersteel bracelet with deployant clasp with Rolex logo (replaced in 1967-1968 aprox.).
A very rare timepiece and very hard to find in these conditions after 66 years. Single owner, family heirloom watch unworn 30 years. Maintains unpolished case shapes and the general state of condition of the bracelet and links is very well preserved. Watch only (without original box and papers).
What makes this watch so unique?
This is Tudor's first reference in diver's watches (1954). Other examples are extremely scarce in the world moreover in similar state and working condition. This watch is presented in an exceptional good condition.
The case maintains its sharp lines that prove a never polished condition and comes with all its original elements (no replacement or service elements).
A very important detail for Tudor connoisseurs is on the dial: the Tudor Rose touching the 12 o'clock marker of which there are very few examples in the world and places this watch in the first series produced in 1954.
