Anyone who knows about finest watchmaking, can recognize the masterly ability of Patek Philippe to fit almost impossible complications in a thin case like the collection Complications. Every single complication integrated to its machinery carries the purest spirit of fine watchmaking and Swiss tradition. Patek Philippe upholds a tradition in compliactions that are useful in everyday situations, such as Annual Calendars, dual time zones and World Time displays.
The Patek Philippe Ref. 5070 was introduced in 1998, as the brand's first non-perpetual chronograph in over 40 years. Following the Ref. 1463 (ceased in the 1960s), the 5070 was the latest chapter in a long legacy of great manually-wound, two-register chronographs. The 5070 production was limited to 250 watches per year in each metal. It was in production for a relatively short time: 1998-2002 - yellow gold, 2002-2008 - rose gold and white gold, 2008-2009 - platinum.
Inspired by a unique split-second chronograph, manufactured by Patek Philippe in the 1950s (the Ref. 2512), it was the first production watch manufactured by Patek Philippe with a case size larger than 40mm, and was originally produced exclusively in yellow gold, before later beeing adopting the white gold and rose gold cases.
Reserved for the most refined taste in luxury watches, this Patek Philippe Complications Chronograph is a must-have piece to add in the collection.
