The Omega Speedmaster Ref. 311.32.40.30.02.001 is a special edition paying tribute to the historic “CK2998” from 1959, one of the most iconic Speedmasters ever made. Produced in a limited series of 2,998 pieces worldwide, this model combines vintage inspiration with Omega’s modern precision and craftsmanship.
The 39.7 mm stainless steel case is fitted with a black ceramic bezel featuring a white enamel tachymeter scale, providing both durability and a timeless look. The opal silver dial with black chronograph sub-dials and “Alpha” hands reflects the aesthetic of the original CK2998, offering exceptional legibility and balance.
Inside beats the legendary manual-winding Omega Calibre 1861, a direct descendant of the movement worn on the Moon. It offers a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and exceptional reliability.
The watch is completed by a black perforated leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle, reminiscent of classic racing chronographs from the 1960s. The solid caseback features the original Omega Seahorse medallion, a symbol of the brand’s enduring connection to exploration and precision timekeeping.
This 2018 piece is offered complete with its original Omega box and official papers, in excellent condition.
